The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown on Thursday, October 22, 2015 of Wanda Claudina Dickieson of Charlottetown, P.E.I., age 86 years.
Much loved mother of Erna Glydon (Bill), Alberton, P.E.I.; Faye (Tony Dipietro), Calgary, AB; Stephen (Cathy), Winsloe, P.E.I., and Scott, New Glasgow, P.E.I. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren: Troy Glydon (Alana Pridham), Shannon Christie (Steve), Jason Hickey, Krista Hickey (Chad Drummond), Ryan Dickieson, Matthew Dickieson and Samantha Dickieson. Adoring great-grandmother to Holden Glydon, Hope Christie and Ruby Drummond.
Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Clarinda (Grigg) MacNevin, brothers Ken, Athol and Thomas, sisters Jean, Ina and twin sister Wilna, sisters-in-law Evelyn, Margaret and Delcie MacNevin, brothers-in-law Stanley Williams, Bruce Hayes and Jack MacIssac.
She was a longtime resident of New Glasgow, P.E.I., a member of the New Glasgow Christian Church for 40+ years and a member of Central Christian Church, Charlottetown during the last 15 years. She was a life member of New Glasgow Women's Institute and a founding member of New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. Wanda operated Clyde View Bed & Breakfast for many years before moving to Stratford in 2000 and to Renaissance Place in 2008 where she met many new friends. She enjoyed her many games of dominoes, travelling and entertaining family and friends. Despite her failing eyesight and its challenges she continued to participate in all the things she enjoyed doing. Wanda will be missed by her many dear friends.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home for visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at New Glasgow Christian Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment in New Glasgow Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the New Glasgow Cemetery Fund or CNIB - PEI Division (Canadian National Institute for the Blind).
