BERTELSEN, JOAN
It is with deep sadness that the family of Joan Eileen Bertelsen (nee Steeves) announces her passing at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, October 23, 2015.
Joan loved her home of 27 years in Florida and her summers at the cottage feeding her hummingbirds.
Joan is survived by her husband and best friend of over 60 years, Donald; daughter Peggy (James Duplacey) of Fredericton and son Brian (Marlene) of Suffolk, PEI; step-grandchildren, Rebecca and Adam, and their families; sisters Margaret (Bob) and Orris (Late Gerry) of Riverview, brother Austin (Late Barbara) of Dawson Settlement, and sister-in-law Betty of Moncton. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Norman Steeves; sisters Pauline and Audrey; and brothers Norman, Vernon and Doug.
Honoring Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial to take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB, E1E 3V9, (506)852-3530.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alan Munroe and Meaghan for their support and willingness to go the extra mile, which was much appreciated.
