BARRON, JAMES "JIM"
James “Jim” Gordon Barron, 74, of Elgin, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on October 23, 2015. Jim was the husband of the late Linda Barron (nee Burlock) who passed away on October 17, 2005. He was the son of the late Maurice “Mike” and Muriel (nee Pearson) Barron, and his late step-mother Lois Barron.
Jim was a retired Stationary Engineer from CFB #5. He was a former member of the Elgin Fire Department, a past member of the Petitcodiac Sportsmen Club, and was a former instructor with the N.B. Conservation Education Program for over 25 years.
Jim is survived by his children: Stephen Barron (Christine), Wendy Barron, Lisa Dyment (Jason), and Dawn Barron; his grandchildren: Vanessa, Ryan, Holly, Lyndsay, Luke, Olivia, and Ben; his great-grandchildren: Ahyla, Hazen, Jazmyn, Penelope and Marielle; his siblings: Joan Cameron, Bud Barron, Elaine Steeves, David Ives, John Ives and Frances Steeves. Jim will also be dearly missed by his canine companion Lacie.
Besides his parents and step-mother, Jim was predeceased by his siblings: Marion Steeves, Louise Steeves, Elizabeth “Betty” Lewis, and Marjorie “Mardi” Burlock.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac (506-756-3361). As per Jim’s request, no visitation will be held. A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church in Church’s Corner on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the adjoining All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery.
Donations to the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
