Betty MacKinnon
Trenton - C. Elizabeth “Betty” MacKinnon, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Betty was born February 8, 1927 in Trenton, and was a daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (MacDonald) MacKinnon. 
Betty was a long time employee of the former Metropolitan Store, Greenburg’s, C.P. Smith Furniture Store and retired as a checker from Trenton Works.
She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Church and the former Christ the King Parish. She enjoyed Church activities, card and crib games at the 55 Plus Seniors Club and was a former member of the Steeltown Friendly Group. She always took a keen interest in her parish and community and was willing to help in any way she could.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by nephews and nieces: Donald Turnbull and Philip Turnbull, Trenton; Tommy Turnbull, New Glasgow; Gerard (Mary) MacKinnon, Barrington, Yarmouth Co.; Elizabeth Roscoe (Mike Lynch), Malagash; Jeannie DeWhytie (Mike), Toronto; Alan MacKinnon (Robin), PEI; John (Mary) MacKinnon and Bruce MacKinnon, Lynn MacKinnon, Red Deer, AB; several grand and great nieces and nephews; special grand nieces: Lisa and Sara Goudey, formerly of Trenton.
She was predeceased by sisters: Violet Turnbull and Mary in infancy; brothers: Howard and Donald; nephew, George MacKinnon and niece, Donna (MacKinnon) MacLeod.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral mass 2 pm Wednesday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery.
