It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Angus 'Leo' MacKinnon of South Ridge Road announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Oct. 25, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Angus Leo MacKinnon was the son of the late William Stephen MacKinnon and Flora (Fraser) MacKinnon. He was born in Meat Cove on July 31, 1930. He was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather and great-grandfather. He spent his early years as a fisherman and went on to be a woodsman who loved the outdoors, hunting and trapping. Leo could always be found outside tending to his lawn, and took great pride in his Christmas display that he spent countless hours preparing. One of his biggest joys came from having a baby on his lap. We will always remember Papa and the great love he had for his family.
Leo leaves behind the love of his life Margaret, with whom he spent 58 wonderful years; sons, William (Annaleta), Leo (Marie), Dale (Tammy) and Storm (Pauline); grandchildren, Ashley, Luke, Rosalie, Miranda, Angela, David Lee, Patrice, Gracie, Rory, Katelynn and Emily; great-grandchildren, Kiera, Georgia, Kingston, Sebastian, Easton, Cambria, Piper, Ivy and Harley; brothers, Charlie (Margie) and Alex; sisters, Christy, Alice, Patsy and Willena (Wayne); sisters-in-law, Shari and Atlantia and brothers-in-law, Gary and Walter.
Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by sons, Patrick (Donna), Allan; brothers, Stevie and Danny; sisters, Sadie, Katie, Jessie, Rose and Linda and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, also by a baby daughter in infancy.
