Jason Daniel Fahey

Fahey, Jason Daniel, 23, of Valley, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, October 29th, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 11th, 1992, he was the son of Ralph and Doris (Mertinat) Fahey. Jason was a graduate of Cobequid Educational Centre, Truro. He attended semesters (BComm.) at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax and a semester at daVinci College, Halifax, where he studied Audio Engineering and Production. In his shortened life, he understood the values of peace, love and joy. Values that can take a life time for many to learn. He emulated the qualities of respect, kindness and forgiveness. He was strong and courageous. This is the legacy and impact that Jason leaves behind. Jason had a love for fitness, music and football. Without a doubt there was a special love and friendship that he had shared with his sister, Bridget. The following words were found in his notes, “The progression of my life was hard and strong at the start and towards the end, it has been liberated, free and peaceful.” Besides his parents, he is survived by sister, Bridget, Valley; sister, Christine, Austin TX; brother, Peter (Ronda), Valley; maternal grandparents, Renate and John Bampton, Sussex NB; aunts. Susan Mertinat, Sussex NB, Cal (Diane), Oakville, Ont., Sherry (Harold) Fillmore, Greenfield; cousins, Alex and Jesse Graham, Sussex NB, Rod Fahey, Oakville, Ont., Lisa Fahey, Calgary, AB, Brandon Fillmore, Greenfield, Madeleine and Keira of Oakville, Ont.; nephews, Jake, Riley and Isaac all of Truro. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Robert and Madeline Fahey. Jason’s family and friends will gather for a time of Visitation on Monday, November 2nd from 6-8pm with a Celebration of Jason’s Life on Tuesday, November 3rd at 11am all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Reception will follow in Immanuel Baptist Church, 295 Young St., Truro. Private family interment will take place in Robie St. Cemetery, Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jason’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
