New Glasgow: J. Frederick MacDonald, age 92 of the Valley View Villa, Riverton and formerly of New Glasgow, passed away on Nov. 1, 2015 in the Villa.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Evan and Edith Annie (MacDonald) MacDonald.
Fred was a resident of New Glasgow since 1956.
He spent most of his working life as a car salesman.
Fred was a member of the Pictou Co. Old Time Fiddlers Assoc.
He was an adherent of the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
Surviving are his wife the former Marie A. Muirhead; Daughters: Kathy (Edward) Richard of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Valerie (Christopher) Conlon of Dartmouth; A son David (Mary) of Nepean, Ont.; Grandchildren: Lindsay (Dave), Zachary (Stephanie), Evan and Brett; Many nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by a sister: Jean Pitts.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Burial will be in the MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Valley View Villa or to the MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery.
