SEARLE, WILLIAM ALBERT "BILL"
William Albert Searle passed away, with family at his side, on November 2, 2015, at York Care Centre Fredericton, NB. He was born in Saint John, NB, on June 22, 1927, to the late James and Laura Searle.
Bill served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years. After retirement from the military he worked for Canadian Tire in Oromocto, NB, and later, Tractors and Equipment Ltd in Fredericton, NB. During his life, Bill enjoyed travelling. He often took the road less traveled just for the adventure. Bill looked forward to his summer visits from his special great-granddaughter, Leeann, who will dearly miss her “Papa Bill” from Sanikiluaq, Nunavut. He will be missed dearly by his family, and many friends he made along the way.
Bill is survived by his children, Willena Yackobeck of Cold Lake, AB; Roseanne Thompson of Victoria, BC; Dwayne (Nancy) Searle of Saint John, NB; Scott (Shannon) Searle of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Crystal, Jennifer, Dustin, Kenny and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Karl, Leeann, Corbin, Audrey, Vanessa, Adria, and Lucas. He is also survived by his brother, John "Jack" (Molly) Searle of Saint John, NB; sister, Gilda (Perry) Abriel of Lower Sackville, NS; sisters-in-law, Lillian Fortune, Gertie Leroy and Margarite “Marg” McCoy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (Fortune) who passed away in 1959, and Muriel (Belding) who passed away in 2012; son, Robbin; brother, Clifford; and sister, Josephine LeValliant.
At Bill’s request, there will be no visitation or service. The family will have a private interment in Saint John at a later date.
