Margaret was born June 23, 1945 in Edmonton, Alberta and Passed away in Fort St. John, B.C. on Monday August 24, 2015 at the age of 70 years after a short battle of lung cancer.
Margaret was the third daughter to Frank & Annie Senz. The Family moved to Fort St. John in 1946. Mom attended Central Elementary School and North Peace Secondary School before attending Alberta College in Edmonton. Where she stayed and worked for a construction company before she moved back to Fort St. John, and worked at the Royal Bank and volunteered as a Girl Guide leader. Mom traveled in her younger days to Nova Scotia and Australia with friends.
In 1968 Margaret met and married Grant Holmes. . In 1971 Traci Anne was born, then in 1975 Spencer followed. They lived in Clairmont subdivision, Boundary Lake, Swan Hills and Calgary.
Mom became a single parent in 1979 and moved in with her parents into the family home before moving into Co-op Housing. Where Mom sat on the board for several years. Mom was very much involved in FSJ Minor Hockey for many years and received a Parent Volunteer award.
Mom worked for the B.C. Government, Human Resources Ministry for over 25 years as a supervisor of Admin Services. Mom decided to retire at 60 when the new computer system was being brought in.
Mom dedicated her life to her children. She supported her children in there sports, Traci Anne in figure skating, dance and minor ball. Spencer in speed skating, minor ball and hockey.
In 1994 she became a Nanny as her grandchildren called her, for the first time when Murray was born the day before her birthday to Traci Anne and Rob, Curtis came along in 2001. Stephanie came in 1999 to Spencer. She was a devoted to her grandkids supporting them in the sports they loved and the love of music. Mom loved to babysit for the grand-dogs as well.
Mom’s favorite holiday was Christmas. The house was always decorated. Mom has hosted the family Christmas dinners for 21 years in the family home after her mother passed away. Mom made all the special baking and treats for Christmas. It was always a special holiday spent with the family, one that she always enjoyed.
Mom spent her retirement years knitting, crocheting, crafting, reading and watching sports on T.V. and watching her grandsons at the local hockey arena. Her Baby Sweaters and Angel Baby Blankets had been available in the FSJ Hospital gift shop before her passing. Mom was called the Martha Stewart by her sisters as she was so organized and efficient.
Margaret was survived by her children Traci Anne (Rob) Hammond, Spencer Holmes (Susan Longstaff) Grandchildren Murray, Curtis Hammond, Stephanie Haggerty. Grand-dogs Porsha, Kiera and Myley

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Frank & Annie Senz
A Memorial Service was held on Friday September 4, 2015 at 11:00am from the Senior Citizen Hall in Fort St. John.
The Family would like to thank the many Doctors and Nurses in Calgary at the Foothills Hospital for exceptional care she received while she was there, And Thank You to the Home Care Nurses and Nurses at the FSJ Hospital and Dr. Thomson that cared for Mom in her final days with us.
Thank You to Gord Klassen for his support and officiating at the memorial service. Thank You to Peace catering for the wonderful luncheon and tea after the service. A special Thank You to Kaylie Hamre for the memorial service arrangements. Thank You to everyone who sent flowers, or provided food or shared a special story or memory of Mom, your support and love is greatly appreciated.
