With sadness we announce the passing of Beryle Ethel Jean Wiesner, formerly of Hillside Road, Marion Bridge, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born on March 7, 1925, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Harris) Giddings.
Beryle was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in Yarmouth, N.S. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Mira Ferry, where she was a CGIT leader, a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and until 1975, a member of the Women’s Institute. She was a founding member of the Hillside Helpers.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynda (Isadore) Tourangeau, Alta., Joyce (Fred Steele) and Louise (Ernie) Gaudet; son, Ernie (Karen); grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Jordan, Jeffrey, Michelle, Laurie, David, Deborah, Kenny, Stephen, Emily and Katie and three great-grandchildren.
Beryle was predeceased by her husband, Ernest. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her sisters, Joyce, Myrtle, Meagan, Audrey and Freda and brothers, Colin and Lauchlin.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church on Sunday 3 p.m., with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the church hall. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Horne’s Road.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the veteran’s unit at Harbourview Hospital, Sydney Mines for the care and compassion provided to our mother.
