George Alfred 'Butch' Mills
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Butch peacefully passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at the Glace Bay Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Butch was employed with Devco, working in various locations and retired in 1993. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan; he also enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues throughout his years. He was a member of the Hub Club and he truly enjoyed his times spent with his two special buddies, Danny and Elmer.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (nee-Boutilier); daughter, Kari (Troy), Birch Grove; sons, George (Gina) and A.J., both of Glace Bay; his precious grandchildren, Katie, Rebecca and Brody; sisters, Lorraine (Grant), Florence (Elmer), Bella, Judy (Marty), Charlene (Kevin), Georgina (Ivan).
Besides his mother, Violet (Milley) and his stepdad, Charlie Morgan 'Quack', Butch was also predeceased by a grandson, Nathan, in infancy.
In honouring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., immediately followed by a service officiated by Rev. Myrna MacMullin in the chapel starting at 12 p.m., all in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Interment will follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
