MacNEILL, TERRANCE MICHAEL
The passing of Terry (aka Ted) occurred at his residence on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Born on May 6, 1959 to John “Jack” and Irene (MacKinnon) MacNeill.
Terry was a graduate of NBCC Saint John, UNB Saint John, and UNB Fredericton. He worked many years for NBCC, leaving to work administration in Long Term Care. At the time of his passing he was the Executive Director of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home Inc.
Terry’s greatest achievement in life is his family, to which he was so proud. Terry’s faith and love of community led to volunteering. He was past President of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Saint John; past co-chair of the Saint John Community Suicide Prevention Committee; past Pastoral Council chair of St. Joseph Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus 8364; and a member of the St. Andrews Society of Saint John.
Terry leaves behind his parents; his wife Mary Ellen (Stevens); children, Luke (Lilly), Kate, Jordan and Julie Anna (Brian) Lent; granddaughter Adelyn Elizabeth; brother, Randy (Ashley); sisters, Karen Totten (Bruce Kilpatrick), Janet Gardner, and Lynn (Kenny) Trentowsky; mother in law Betty (Silk) Stevens, as well as several other brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother John, brother in laws Melvin Totten and Jim Gardner, and father in law Robert (Bob) Stevens.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Sunday, November 8, 2015 and Monday, November 9, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Rd, Saint John, NB, on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
By family request, in lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Terry may be made to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home, the Doug Elliott H.O.P.E. Centre fund, Canadian Mental Health Association of Saint John, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for their compassionate support and care to Dr. Stephen Willis, Dr. A. Reiman and oncology staff and the Extra Mural and palliative care workers.
