ATKINSON, ROBERT "BOB" V. G.
Robert “Bob” V. G. Atkinson, 77, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2015. Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late Murray and Florence (McLeod) Atkinson.
Robert was a retired Postal Clerk with 27 years’ service. He was a life time member and former Secretary Treasurer of the C.U.P.W. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years,, Villa (Mullin) Atkinson; son, Douglas Atkinson (late Kimberley); daughter, Darlene Wood (Len) of Moncton; grandchildren, Faith Atkinson, Lauren and Evan Wood; sisters, Maxine Murray (Jimmy), Evelyn Murray (late Ken), Sally Dow (Walter), Mary Betts (Howard), Florine Hunter (Ken), Margaret Casey (Jack); several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Malcolm and David and sister, Phyllis Mason.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Greg Sparkes officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment to be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
