It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Joseph Carew announce his passing on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook at the age of 80 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Sadie; son: Michael (Mary) Carew; daughters: Trudy (Russell) Gallant; and Sandra (Rod) Maddigan; grandchildren: Amanda, Andy, Allie, Jessica, Matthew, Jennifer, and Peter; great- grandson: Daniel; brother: Jimmy; sisters: Frances and Barbara; Very special brother in-law: Michael (Mildred) Walsh; and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son: John (Jack) Carew; parents: Michael and Allie Carew; brothers: Ted and Milford. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Phil Morris, Dr. Pasha, Dr. Asin Kamran, Dr. Desiree Dunn, Dr. Healey, and loving nurses at the Cancer Unit and Palliative Care unit for your compassionate care of Dad during our time of need. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home 218 Curling Street on Monday, November 9th from 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th at 2:00 PM from Sacred Heart Parish Curling Street with Father Don Leonard officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
