NAUSS, Gerald Aubrey – age 88, Berwick, Kings Co. passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Morristown, Kings Co., May 26,1927, he was a son of the late Ernest A. and Flossie L. (Frank) Nauss. Gerald was devoted to his family, friends and his faith in God. He, along with his late wife were avid square dancers with the Belles & Beaus Square Dancers. Gerald was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church, having served as a deacon and had been secretary/treasurer of the Sunday school for over 20 years. In his earlier years he drove a truck and delivered milk. Gerald then pursued his life long career as a mechanic, working at Milne’s Garage, New Minas and Bob Caldwell's, Berwick. He also owned and operated G.A. Nauss Garage during the '60s - '70s and G.A. Nauss Hardware, in the early '70s, both in Berwick. Gerald enjoyed travelling and going for drives. One of the biggest joys for him were going on long family vacations. Surviving are his daughter, Sheila Anne (Gordon) Nauss-Irving, Stony Plain, Alta.; son, Laurie Gerald (Shirley) Nauss, Edmonton, Alta.; grandchildren, Scott (Ashley) Irving; Wendy (Aaron Harper) Irving; great grandchildren, Troy, Airyn and Kevin Harper; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sister, Greta (the late Frank) Fisher, Berwick; 29 nieces and nephews; good friend, Faye Parks. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Lottie Rae (Dorman) Nauss; second wife, Gloria I. (Benjamin/Brewster) Nauss; brother, Ralph Nauss; sisters, Ruby, in infancy; Grace (John) Morton. A celebration of Gerald's life was held at Grand View Manor Assembly Room, 110A Commercial St., Berwick, on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2 pm, with Rev. Sarah Scoff officiating, followed by a time of fellowship. Interment was in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Berwick Baptist Church or to Grand View Manor.
