1916 - 2015
Hermine Poirier, 99, of Moncton, wife of the late Philias Poirier, passed away on Sunday November 8, 2015 at the Villa du Repos in Moncton. Born on August 2, 1916 in Haute-Aboujagane, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anida (Boudreau) Drisdelle.
Hermine was a former member of the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club and loved playing cards, darts and bowling, as well as dancing and travelling.
She is survived by seven children: Normand (Jeannette), Roger (Linda), Dorine Maillet (feu Jean-Eudes), Claudette LeBlanc (Jean-Guy), Léonard (Murielle), Claude (Carmelle), and Daniel; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by five sisters: Éveline Leger, Geneva Gould, Rosalie Boudreau, Clara Boudreau and Edia Boudreau; one brother, Saül Drisdelle.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday November 12, 2015 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of funeral. A reception will follow at the centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
