It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Ted Kazimer on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late David and Agnes (Malowaney) Kazimer. After spending five years in the navy, Ted worked at the radar base in Sydney for 24 years before retiring. In his spare time, Ted was very active in his community, and gave many years of service as a volunteer firefighter in Dominion. He was also a justice of the peace for a number of years, a role that he greatly enjoyed and was very proud to fulfill.
Ted was happiest when surrounded by people he loved, and cherished spending time in Florida with some of his closest friends. Over the years, those who have known Ted have described him in the same manner. He was a gentleman, who truly was a most gentle man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy (McLean); sons, David, Halifax, Bentley, Alberta; daughters, Kim, Saskatchewan, Cheryl, San Diego, Kelly, Halifax; siblings, Ivan, New Brunswick, and Janet O’Leary, Ontario.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Lynda Marsh.
