Malcolm "Mack" Bond
Bond, Malcolm Jerome “Mack”, 86 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Walkerville, Pictou County passed away November 12, 2015 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Canso he was a son of the late Mark and Mary (Snow) Bond.
Mack was a resident of Walkerville for most of his life. During his working years he was employed at the former Hawker Siddeley Rail Car Plant in Trenton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long-time member of the former St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Thorburn.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie (Laurie) Chambers, Stellarton; 2 grandsons, a sister Loretta “Lolly” Bond (Charlie Conway), Walkerville; a sister-in-law Jane Bond, Walkerville; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Don and Ralph, sisters Nora Cheek, Leona Pelrine, Rita Barkhouse and Shirley Young.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors from 7-9 pm Sunday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Monday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Tom MacNeil presiding.
Burial of ashes will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
Donations in memory of Mack can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
