LEGER, JOHN OSCAR MD F.R.C.P.
The death of Dr. John Oscar Leger of Quispamsis, husband of Rose (Gormley) Leger, occurred on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 27, 1945 in Woodstock, ON, he was a son of the late J. Oscar and Mary (Ballard) Leger.
John was employed as a radiologist with Sussex Health Centre for several years. John loved reading, sailing, traveling and fishing. He was also an avid wood carver.
Besides his wife, John is survived by his children, Joe of Halifax, NS, Paul of Halifax, Clare Ettinger (Mitch) of Edmonton, AB, and Emily Leger of Halifax, stepchildren, Braden McAllister (Erika), and Megan Latimer (Kyle) both of Quispamsis, brothers, Roger (Rose) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Peter (Wendy) of Clifton Royal, and Jim of Kitchener, ON, sisters, Jeanne Majeski (Peter) of Arlington, MA, Carol McFee (Gordie) of Ottawa, ON, Mary Joyce (Ian), and Barbara Roberts (Tom) both of Quispamsis, grandchildren, Bronwyn and Lorelei Ettinger, Easton McAllister, Angus and Raeya Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mark's Church, Pettingill Road, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Private family interment will take place at St. Bridget's Cemetery.
