Leonard Jourdy

JOURDY, LEONARD
Leonard M. Joudry, 86, of Moncton, went into the presence of the Lord on November 13, 2015. Born in Chatham, he was a son of the late James Joudry and Ida Manderson.
Leonard joined the Merchant Navy at the age of 16 and worked as a Merchant Seaman for 8 years. He then worked in sales for Baxter Foods for over 35 years. After retirement, he worked as a Commissionaire for over 10 years. Leonard was a very active church member at Calvary Temple in Saint John and Glad Tidings Church in Moncton, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent, bus ministry, deacon and various other positions. He had a special love for missions and travelled on various mission teams around the world.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Willa; sons, Stephen (Mae), Dwight (Cathy) and Peter (Ruth); grandchildren, Jared and Jeramie, Corey and Kyle, and Nathan, Bethany and Juliann; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and threesisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Glad Tidings Church, 2460 Mountain Rd, Moncton, where a funeral service will also be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 12 pm, with a reception to follow in the church gymnasium. Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Glad Tidings Missions. Leonard was well loved and respected. He always had a smile and a keen sense of humour. To all who knew him, he was always known as Mr. 110%.
