It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Delores Marie MacNeil on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (MacDonald) Popwell.
Delores enjoyed playing bingo with friends as well as watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.
Delores is survived by her children, Russell (Marilyn), Newfoundland, Art, Ontario, Robert, Glace Bay, Rita (Paul), Victoria Mines, Joanne, New Waterford; sisters, Betty, Ontario, Diane (Marcel), Reserve Mines; brothers, Conchie (Connie), Ontario, and Bobby, Glace Bay. Special stepdaughter Diana (Shaun); stepchildren, Gerard (Rho), Alex (Lisa), Raymond (Lucy), David, Eric (Laurel), Roy (Diane), Ann (Angie) and Charlene (Jimmy), as well as 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gerald, sister Gloria, brothers, Morris and Leo, infant son John and step-parents Mary and Baddie Almond.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at 1-3 p.m. followed directly by a chapel service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Bill Stephenson officiating.
