JOAN SUMLIC
1950 – 2015

Sumlic, Joan Age 65 of Weirdale, SK. Born in Prince Albert on August 2, 1950. She will be sadly missed by her family. Husband Garry, Daughter Nicole (Derek Toth) and their children Chase and Hailey. Son Scott and (Jami) Sumlic children Tayen and Lowen. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was predeceased by her twin baby brother David; her parents Clifford and Euphemia Atkinson of Prince Albert. Her Father and Mother in law Joseph and Rose Sumlic of Weirdale. Sister in law Shirley Sommerfelt. Numerous Aunts and Uncles. Joan and Garry were married on December 16, 1972 in Prince Albert and lived in Saskatoon for one year. In Fall of 1973 they moved to La Ronge and decided to start a family. They had their first child Nicole in 1973, then their second child in 1977. Joan was a homemaker until her children went school. She found a job working at Canada Post and worked there until she retired 20 years later. In Spring of 2000 they moved out to Weirdale and resided until her passing. Joan's favorite place to be was walking by the Montreal River in Air Ronge. She also enjoyed spending time with family in Candle Lake and camping in La Ronge. Joan really enjoyed spending time with her family and Grandchildren who she loved dearly. Joan's hobbies include Knitting, reading, cross stitching, crafts and playing the piano. Joan was an outgoing and kind hearted person. She loved going for coffee with her friends. Joan will be lovingly missed by all her knew her. It is in the family's request that in lieu of flowers and donations may be made to The Diabetes Association, #104 - 2301 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 5Z5 or Heart and Stroke Foundation, #26 – 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015, at River Park Memorial Chapel, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK, with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment to be held following the service at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to River Park Memorial Chapel, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
