ROBERT BURNETT HOPE
November 18, 1924 - November 14, 2015
Robert Burnett Hope was born November 18, 1924 to Gustaveous Munro and Mabel (née Anderson) Hope. He lived all his life on the farm twelve miles south of White Bear. Bob attended grade school at the nearby country school of Elmont and completed high school in White Bear. After high school Bob attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan.
Bob worked at a variety of jobs from working in a coal mine to driving the snow plow for the R.M. He took over the family farm in 1948. Bob imported Charolais cattle and won many awards for the purebred cattle he raised. Bob married Vida "Polly" Minogue in 1947, and they adopted and raised two children, Wayne and Marlene Hope. Polly died in 1986. Bob married Joyce Davidson in 1987, and they had one daughter, Lauren Hope.
Bob had many interests over the years, including baseball, hockey, dancing, skiing and raising and showing cutting horses.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Joyce (née Davidson) Hope; daughters Lauren Hope and Marlene Hope; sister Marion Myers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Danny and Sandra Davidson as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Vida "Polly" (née Minogue) Hope; parents Gustaveous Munro and Mable (née Anderson) Hope; brother Munro (Audrey) Hope; sister Joyce (Ivan) King, brother-in-law Norman Myers and adopted son Wayne Hope.
Memorial Service was held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kyle United Church with Mr. Jim MacNaughton officiating. Organist Darlene Smith accompanied the Kyle United Church Choir. Hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art", "In the Garden", "Wings of Prayer" and "Amazing Grace". Words of Remembrance were shared by Sandra Davidson. Interment followed at the White Bear Cemetery.
