Mabel Green was born on January 24th, 1937 to George and Nellie (Bessey). She was one of four children. On May 11th, 1953 she married John Green of Raleigh, and together they raised five beautiful children. Passed away on November 7, 2015, Mabel Green of Raleigh, in her 78th year. She leaves to mourn sons Wallace (Judy) and Alonzo (Michelle); daughters Edna (Martin), Hazel (Raymond), and Vivian (Tony); grandchildren Jill, Vanessa (Ashley), Krista (Bruce), Terri (Mike), Kellie-Rae (Corey), Shawn (Genina), Aaron, and Taylor; great-grandchildren Brady, Chloe, Tristan, Dylan, Liam and Madison. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John, parents George and Nellie Bessey, parents-in-law Elijah and Christina Green, sisters-in-law Nina Colbourne and Beatrice Green, brothers-in-law Hubert Colbourne, Henry Green, Amaziah Patey and Leonard Green. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
