Predeceased by her husband: Harvey, parents: Garfield and Berthina, and brother: John. Left to remember and mourn are her children: Wallace Simms (Patricia) and Michelle Cooper (Edward). She leaves her sister with whom she remained so close, Linda Skinner (Norman) and their family. Brothers and sisters in law and their families: Wallace (Diane), Cathy, Lavinia, Elsie (Vincent). Also left to mourn with a broken heart is her companion Sam Skinner, who was so good to her and who will always remain a part of our family. Ruby was born and raised in Gaultois, Hermitage Bay, where she and Harvey raised their family. Ruby spent the last 9 years in Mount Pearl where she made many friends at Parkdale Manor, the seniors groups, and at the campground where she and Sam spent their summers. She fought a brave battle with cancer, with the help of the caring people at the Health Sciences Center. The family would like to especially thank all those who helped care for her. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Barrett's Funeral Home Chapel, Commonwealth Ave. In keeping with Ruby's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service, and Ruby will return to Gaultois, where she always called home.
