Passed peacefully away on November 18, 2015 in the presence of his loving family, William Joseph Shea, of Marysvale, NL, age 67 years. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Shea (nee Bartlett); sister Madonna Whalen (nee Shea), special aunt Eileen Bartlett and close friend Thomas (Knobby) Wiseman. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 41 years, Judy Shea (nee Crocker); his children Janet Brodman (Joe), Michelle Wall (Jason), Billy Shea (Jennifer), Adam Shea (Amanda), and Jamie Matthews (Jodi); his grandchildren Katelyn, Shawn and Evan; his sister Bernadette Wade (Ken) and brothers Frank (Wanda), Ken (Debbie), Pete, Bern, Mike (Connie), Ed (Cheryl) and Len; including special "second mom" Kathleen Bartlett. Bill was especially close to many families as he grew up and was considered a brother and son to the Bartlett's, Boland's, Crocker's, Hedderson's, Wiseman's and his weekly breakfast club. Bill loved his life in Newfoundland where he worked as a surveyor for over 48 years. He had countless close friends across Newfoundland and Deaf communities. He was a passionate musician who loved to play guitar, sing in the band and listen to Hank Williams. He will always be remembered as a compassionate and generous man who treated everyone he met like family. A special thank you to all the staff of the Coronary Care Unit at the Health Sciences Center. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, November 21 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Sunday, November 22 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Visitation will continue at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus, on Monday, November 23, from 10am-1:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Parish in Brigus on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:30pm, with burial to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brigus. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the NL Deaf Sports Association.
