E. Bruce Campbell

CAMPBELL, E. BRUCE
It is with great sadness that the family of E. Bruce Campbell, of Saint John, NB, announce his passing on November 20, 2015. Born in Saint John on January 4, 1950 to the late Calvin and Doris (Gidney) Campbell, Bruce was the third of six children. He grew up in the North End of Saint John and graduated from Saint John High School.
Bruce was a lover of the arts and especially theatre, a passion he passed on to his daughters and grandchildren. He also loved many sports, including hockey and rugby. It was not unusual to see Bruce corralling neighbourhood children up to the baseball field for an impromptu Saturday afternoon game. Bruce was charismatic and witty and was always up for a conversation on politics, the latest book he was reading or something interesting he heard on CBC.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela Campbell (Jim Wilson) of Saint John, NB, and Sarah Campbell McNamara (Chris McNamara) of Quispamsis, NB; his five grandchildren, Gabriel, Calvin, Emma, Zoe and Quinn; four siblings, Rod Campbell (Pamela), Deborah McLaggan (Wayne), Bill Campbell (Barb), and Dorothy Francis (Ross); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Calva McDonald and her husband, Larry.
There will be a private interment for family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Harbour Lights Campaign or a charity of the donor’s choice. www.BrenansFH.com
