Surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, Alice Mary (nee Gallant) Maddix of Wellington, formerly of Urbainville, in her 83rd year. Alice was born in Abram-Village on Dec. 1, 1932, daughter of the late Aubin and Annie Gallant. Beloved wife of René Maddix (63 years) and loving mother to: Reginald (Marie) Maddix, Claudette (Théodore) Thériault, Stella (late Albert) Walsh, Marcia Enman, Robert (Cathy) Maddix, Roger Maddix and Jean-Louis (Karly) Maddix. Grand-mother of: Jason Maddix, John (Candace) Walsh, Rémi Thériault, Paula (Pierre) Castonguay, Tania (Gilles) Bernard, Samantha Enman, Keenan Maddix, Brody Maddix, Maxwell Maddix and Maya Maddix. Great-grandmother of Noah, Mireille, Maryse and future baby Castonguay. Alice will be forever remembered by her brothers and sisters: Louis (Josephine), Adrus (lateMerie), Rene (Ruth), Marie Anne (Victor) Rousselle, Raymond, Claire (Larry) and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents, daughter Louise and brother Arthur. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Wednesday, Nov. 25, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. then on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice’s memory to a trust fund for her son Roger Maddix, or to the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home would be greatly appreciated.
