Harold Gordon Champion

1937-2015
Suddenly at his late residence, on Thursday, November 19, 2015, of Harold Gordon Champion, beloved husband to Ann Ethel (nee Bryanton) Champion, of Alberton, age 77 years.
Born at Darnley, P.E.I., on November 27, 1937, he was the son of the late Ansel and Irene (nee MacDonald) Champion, of Baltic, P.E.I. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Norma (Everett) MacLeod of Upton, and sons, Vernon, of Alberton and Alan (Terry  Wood) of Huntley. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Benjamin Champion, Eric and Kyle MacLeod, Alex Ramsay, Jason Ramsay, Everett Powers, Marion Inman and Jesse Champion and his mother Melanie Champion, Brad Gallant, Parker Gallant and Chloe Gallant. Also by his niece, Donna (Robbie) Arsenault, and nephew, Darren (Amanda) Champion. Also surviving is his brother, Edward (Margaret) Champion, of Indian River, and his mother-in-law, Muriel (late Maynard) Bryanton, of Malpeque. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Fran Harding, of Darnley; John Bryanton, of Cornwall; Evelyn (Bill) Mills, of Malpeque; Irene Bryanton (Leigh Morrell), of Hazel Grove; Shirley (Alan) MacLeod, of Kensington; Elmer Bryanton (Catherine Fraser), of B.C.; Roger (Cindy) Bryanton, of Ottawa, Ont.; Olive Bryanton, of Hampshire; and Thelma Bryanton, of Summerside.
He was predeceased by sisters, Frederica, Elsie, Catherine, Frances, Mildred, and by two siblings in infancy. He was also predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Bryanton, Carl Bryanton, Leslie Harding, Vera Giesberecht, Wyman Bryanton and Faye Bertram.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment to take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Alberton.
Family flowers only. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to Home Care and Palliative Care, the Western Hospital Equipment Fund or to the Gordon Memorial United Church would be gratefully appreciated.
Members from St. Anthony’s Branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the church following the funeral Service.
