1942 - 2015
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Murielle Landry, 73, at the ProTem residence in Moncton on Monday November 23, 2015. Born on October 17, 1942 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Léo J. and Eva (Léger) Landry.
She is survived by two sisters: Claudette (Maurice Cormier) and Thérèse (Guy Martin); two brothers: Léo-Paul (Claudette Savoie) and René (Janice Richard); two nieces: Guylaine (Phillip) and Michelle (Paul); two nephews: Pierre (Lise) and Jean-Marc (Sylvie).
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, François Thibodeau and one sister-in-law, Rolande Goguen.
A graduate from École des Infirmières de l’Hôtel-Dieu de l’Assomption (1966) and Université de Moncton (1975), Murielle worked in various nursing services such as the Health Services at Université de Moncton, Public Health and V.O.N. Moncton. She also monitored nursing students in their practicums at the University of New Brunswick, was a teacher for the Nurse’s Aid program at CCNB-Edmundston and nurse with the NB Optometry Mobile Service.
During the past three years, Murielle needed extended health services. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff at ProTem Residence at 61 Gorge Road, for their love and excellent care provided during her stay with them.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 7 to 9 pm only. Interment will be in Saint-Thomas cemetery in Memramcook.
In memory of Murielle, a contribution can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or to the Alzheimer Society.
