It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Edward White of St. John's at St. Luke's Homes on November 24, 2015 at the age of 80. He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish the memories, his wife Barbara, his beloved children: Cassie Warren (Keith), Brian (Diane) and Lisa Pike (Darryl). Also left to miss their poppy are his precious grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle, Andrew and Emily. His sister, Marjorie (late Howard Clarke) is left with a sad heart but many beautiful memories of happy childhood days and a true friendship in their adult years. He also leaves two sisters-in-law, Malita White (late Archibald), Mary Grandy (late Harry) and brother-in-law Roy Grandy (late Elizabeth). He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, all of whom treated their uncle Ed with kindness and respect. Ed always appreciated help and kindness of many neighbors and friends and was willing to be their go-to person if anyone needed a helping hand. Our family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff members of Pleasantview Terrace for their patience and compassionate care and, as well, for their kindness and respect to our family members. Our gratitude also to our niece Shirley (Max Spuires) who could bring a smile to his face just by entering his room. Also, all of our family members express our forever gratitude to his friend, Fred Jardine, for his exceptional kind deed in a time of crisis. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will he held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday from 12-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place at St. Augustine's Anglican Church on Friday at 2 pm. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to honour his memory would be graciously accepted to St. Luke's Homes, Special Events Fund, 24 Road Deluxe, St. John's, NL, A1E 5Z3 or to St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 1 Westerland Rd., St. John's, NL, A1B 3R7.
