It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Joan (Bond) Hammond, age 75, on Tuesday Nov. 24, 2015 at the Northside General Hospital.
Joan was born in North Sydney, April 12, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Scott) Bond.
Joan is survived by her husband William Hammond, Halifax; her sons, Mark (Rebecca) Hammond, Ontario, Roderick 'Roddie' Hammond, Halifax; her brother Henry (Debbie) Bond and her sister Avitus (Lloyd) Fudge, both of North Sydney; her four grandchildren, Rain-Elizabeth, Dax, Montana, Fiona and by her two nephews, Bobby (Michele) Bond and Steven Bond.
The family would like to thank all those who made Joan’s final days as comfortable as possible, Dr. Irinia Ghenea, Dr. Sharieff, Oncology Department of Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care and the wonderful staff at 4West Northside General Hospital.
By request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
