It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edith Rebecca McLeod announce her passing on Sunday, November 29th, 2015 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 97 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Jerome Strickland; sister-in-law Mona Barnes, Trout River; special caregiver Vanessa Johannessen; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, 1989; parents William and Agnes Barnes, brothers Augustus and his wife Rhoda Barnes, Garland Barnes and Graydon Barnes; sisters Eliza and husband John Barnes and May and husband Rendell Hann. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd at 2 p.m. from The Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive with Captains Cory and Pamela Pinksen officiating with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the SPCA.
