William "Bill" Bury

BURY, WILLIAM "BILL" DAVID
It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Bury of Woodmans Point, cherished husband of Donna Lee (Booker) announces his passing, which occurred on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Saint John on July 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elsie (St. George) Bury.
Prior to his retirement, Bill was employed as a trades instructor with NBCC Saint John. In his younger years, he coached with the River Valley Recreation Association and the Lancaster Minor Hockey Association. Bill was also a well-known Scout Leader "Akala" in the Westfield area. He volunteered with the Westfield Fire Department, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member in good standing of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He was also a member of ILA Local 1046.
In addition to his wife, Donna Lee, Bill is also survived by their children, Michael David Bury (Kim) and Derek James Bury all of Saint John; sister, Lorraine Shaw (Don) of New York; precious grandchildren, Ashlee, Amanda and Sophie Catherine; sister-in-law, Stella Bury of Saint John; as well as, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, Bill was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas "Junior" Bury.
Bill’s family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses, doctors and entire staff of 3BS and 3BN at the SJRH for the excellent care that was always provided to him.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John with visiting on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine’s Church, Grand Bay-Westfield on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Woodmans Point Cemetery.
