After a short but courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eric at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ont. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.
Eric, in his 56th year, born in Middleton, N.S., was the beloved son of Gemma (Roach) Bourgeois and the late Charlie Bourgeois.
Much loved brother of Gizelle and her husband Ron Chafe of Sydney. Treasured uncle of Chantal and Charlie. Lovingly remembered by his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to his countless number of friends in Lindsay who have been so kind and supportive to Eric, not only during his illness, but throughout his entire life.
Eric was a simple soul who enjoyed playing hockey with the Sunday morning crew, hanging out with his buddies at the "Coach" and rooting for his beloved Montreal Canadiens. Eric was a proud member of the Lindsay Optimist Club for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Cheticamp Funeral Home, Cheticamp on Friday, Dec. 11 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Cheticamp. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.
