UNION CENTRE - It is with broken hearts we announce the death of James Albert “Jim” Jardine. 64 of Union Centre, and Riverton on December 7, 2015 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow on September 18, 1951, he was a son of Dorothy (Cameron) Jardine and the late Murray Jardine.
Besides his mother, Jim is survived by his sister Isabel Fancy (Barry); brother Kenny (Nancy); twin brother John (Wendy); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Murray, brother Glen and nephew Jason.
Jim was employed at the Pictou Municipal Office for 30 years, from which he retired due to ill health.
He was an active member of Middle River Presbyterian Church.
Jim was the longest living kidney transplant recipient in Nova Scotia, something for which he wanted no special recognition.
An avid card player, he was also a faithful Toronto Leafs and Blue Jays fan.
Jim will always be remembered for his loving and kind soul; he touched the lives of all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Jim is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville where his family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 2 o’clock at Middle River Presbyterian Church, Rocklin with Bonnie Langille officiating.
Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Middle River.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Foundation, Aberdeen Hospital or the Middle River Presbyterian Church.
