FREEMAN - Dorothy Faye, 95, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, on December 8, 2015. Born in Milton, on April 13, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Sophie (Fralic) Hartlen. Although a private person, Dorothy was a kind, loving, caring, fun loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a stay at home mom which was appreciated by her children as meals were always ready, clean clothes to wear and cookies and potato skins were on the wood stove for all to enjoy. Dorothy was a member of the Milton Baptist Church where she served on the auxiliary and sang in the choir. She took pride in making sure her children attended church, Sunday school and church groups. She loved to sing and played the banjo uke in the Milton School “Orchestra”. Dorothy enjoyed watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy”, sports, especially her beloved Blue Jays as well as attending birthday gatherings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters Marguerite (Richard) Cole, of Milton; Jeanette Lewis of South Brookfield; Carol Wigglesworth of Milton, Helen (Tim) McGee of Glen Haven; Shirley of Bridgewater; her son Edward of Toronto; 14 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Russell; her son Lawrence; sisters Marguerite Bush, Amy Simpson, Roxie Slater, Gladys Fralic, Jessie Kempton and Jean Irving; Her brothers Reginald, Clair, Harry, Rex and Robert. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will be in Milton Community Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Milton Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
