Robert "Robin" Mole

Passed on: December 10th, 2015

MOLE, Robert "Robin" William-age 65, of Kelleys Cove, passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2015, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, after a valiant fight with cancer. Son of the late Matthew and Lorraine (Cottreau) Mole, Robin is survived by his loving wife Rose, son Billy both in Kelley's Cove, a daughter Mariesa Chavez in California, sisters Rachael (Glenn) and Charmaine (Stephen Smith) in Halifax, Michel in New Mexico, brother Kevin (Janice) in Ottawa, as well as many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends all who loved him dearly. Always an adventurer and a true warrior Robin set out at an early age to be a protector of others and to stand up for what is right. Already proficient in Sea Cadets and the Royal Canadian Army Reserve when at 19 he left home in 1969 to join the United States Marine Corps. Forever a proud Marine, Cpl. RW Mole was meritoriously recognized by the US Department of the Navy for his leadership and fearless service throughout many operational battles while stationed near DeNang during the Vietnam War. Following his military career Robin became a Marine Vessel Engineer leading him to travel the world maintaining the engine rooms of all sizes of industrial ships. However there was no greater comfort to Robin than to be on the family homestead with Rose and Billy, to hunt and fish and to share great outdoor experiences with his family and many friends. He will be missed especially by those who have known his courage, his generous heart and his personal warmth. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and entire staff at the Yarmouth Hospital for the loving care provided. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. In keeping with Robin's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial and celebration of Robin's will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bev Densmore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at a later date in Chebogue Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice.
