Irene Barbara McGowan 87 passed away Dec 4, 2015 at the Digby General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Valentine and Hilda Kaulback and the wife of the late Cyril James McGowan. She is survived by her sisters Vera Wamboldt and Edna VanTassell; son David O’Neil; daughters Marlene McLean and June Haight; step-daughter Mary Simms; step-sons Victor McGowan and Joe McGowan; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Irene was well known as the Lady Taxi Driver of Digby. Many thanks to the Digby General Hospital staff for their professional service during her stay.
