THERIAULT, Claire Ethel – Age 69, of Surette’s Island, passed away on December 11, 2015 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Born on January 13, 1946 in Amirault’s Hill, she was a daughter of the late Norman Emiliem and Stella Marie (Moulaison) Doucette. Claire was a retired teacher. She was very artistic and loved to make quilts. She sang at Saint Joseph’s Church, Surette’s Island and at Holy Family Church, Amirault’s Hill. She was director at the Indian Sluice Seniors Club. She had a big heart and was very generous. She was a proud grandmother and was loved by her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Theriault; children, Carrie Anne (Davis) Kennerson, Surette’s Island; Colin (Graziella) Muise, Halifax; siblings, Dianne (William) Salterio, Halifax; Leland (Ella) Doucette, Sluice Point; grandchildren, Michael and Noah Kennerson, and Matthew Muise. She was predeceased by two sisters in infancy. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth where visitation was from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, December 14. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. A burial was held in the parish cemetery following the funeral.
