MILLER, PAUL MARTIN
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paul M. Miller, husband of M. Catherine “Cathy” (Melanson) Miller wish to announce his passing on Friday, December 25, 2015 at his home. Paul was born in Saint John on September 7, 1950 to Martin Simpson “Lee” and Marion Rosamond (Clark) Miller.
Paul worked at the Port of Saint John for over 30 years, and as a Crane operator for 25 years until his retirement five years ago due to failing health. He was a long standing member of the I.L.A. local #273, the Royal Canadian Legion branch #2 and then branch # 69. Paul spent a lot of time at the Queen St. garage hanging out with his friends, he was a great friend to all.
Paul and Cathy loved to travel, especially down south, and had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at the end of November. He was a lover of animals, and was always a big benefactor of the Animal Rescue League at Christmas time.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy (Melanson) Miller, three sisters, Judy Miller, Linda Miller, and Nancy Cairns (Gary), all of Saint John, sister-in-law, Sheila Miller, of Gondola Point, and several nieces and nephews, and his constant companion Charlie, his dog.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Mark Miller, and dogs, Dillon, and Buddy.
Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, (634 1701). Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2 pm at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel with Fr. John Paul Westin officiating. A reception will take place at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center following the service. Donations to the S.P.C.A., the Diabetes Association, or the Charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
