It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James 'Jim' LeBlanc, husband, father and grandfather, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015.
Jim passed away suddenly at home in Coxheath at the age of 78.
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Valerie (Campbell), and their two children, Michele LeBlanc-Havard (Benoit) Iqaluit, Nu., and Shane (Michelle), East Bay. Jim also leaves to mourn his two precious granddaughters, Meghan LeBlanc and Lily Havard. His children and grandchildren were the pride of his life.
In his younger years, Jim played football, hockey and enjoyed downhill skiing. He retired from the Province of Nova Scotia, Department of Consumer Affairs. Jim enjoyed his time with family and friends, entertaining them with amusing stories and jokes. He was jack of all trades, willing to lend a helping hand and was always there for friends and family.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Eugene LeBlanc, and brother, Lionel, age 2, all of Glace Bay, and a sister, Marie Groves, California.
He is also survived by his sister, Doris (John) Long, Waterloo, Ont., and brothers, Russell (Donna), Eugene, David (Anna 'Sookie') and Dennis (Marnie). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception, at Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Burial will take place at a later date.
In his memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Say not in grief: "He is no more",
but live in thankfulness that he was.
