It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Jean Hartling, on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 13, 1927, Jean was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion Kelloway.
Jean is survived by her children, Sheldon (Debbie), Genesta (Craig), her “daughter” Kim; sisters, Thelma, Collette, Dianne and Marian; and brothers, Clarence 'Sonny', and Murray.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Ernie; sisters, Olga, Betty, Teresa and Ella and brothers, John 'Jackie', Walter, and Jerry.
Jean grew up in Glace Bay and married the love of her life, Ernie, in 1948. She loved life and doted on her children, grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Mom, you’ll always be loved by your family and extended family! Your cookies and squares, baked with love, will forever be missed, along with your sweaters and slippers that warmed our hearts and feet.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Mom’s care givers at the Precision Health Group.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of donations please do something kind for someone you love.
