It is with profound sadness, that we the family announce the passing of Norman Louis Bushell Sr., 70, on Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at home with his daughter at his side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of George and Vera (Payday) Bushell of Ball's Creek.
Norman was a truck driver by trade and owned his own business for 40 years moving houses and installing concrete basements in the local area. He was a proud Cape Bretoner and never wanted to live anywhere else. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved to ride his motorcycle, and was a character who enjoyed making people laugh. Norman loved being a father, a grandfather and the company of his close friends.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Susan Marie Bushell of British Columbia and his son, Norman Louis Jr. (Tammy) and grandchildren, Andrew James, Brooke Erin, Hunter Louis; great-grandson Darrien James. He is also survived by his sisters, Muriel Shaw, Georgina Keeping, Mary Milley and brothers, Charles 'Chipper', George and Robert Bushell; many nieces and nephews and his loving dog Jake.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by several nieces, one nephew and his beloved dog Cleo.
Visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home. A celebration of Norm’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow.
