1926 - 2015
Vincent Daigle of St-Charles passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 30th at the age of 89. Born in St-Charles, he was the son of the late Fred and Odélie Daigle.
Vincent worked for several years in Goose Bay, Labrador and was then a fisherman for over 30 years until his retirement.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Emma (Richard), sons Normand (Joan Sanipass), George (Susan) both from St-Charles and daughter Norma Babineau (Marcel) from Irishtown; five grandchildren, Stacey, Vincent, Daniel, Michel and Megan; one great-granddaughter, Luna; four brothers Aldéric (late Mélina), Léon (Dorice) both of St-Louis, Sylveste (Annoncia), and Alpha, both from St-Charles ; four sisters Lilliane Daigle (Jos) of Aldoune, Eva Robichaud (late Albert) of Richibucto, Alina Comeau (Joe Allain) and Dora Chevarie (Jimmy), both of St-Louis; two sister-in-laws, Victoire Daigle (late Pascal) of Richibucto and Marianne Daigle (late Bernard) of St-Charles; as well as many nephews and nieces.
Aside from his parents, Vincent was predeceased by his brothers Pascal, Bernard and Henri, and infant sister Yvonne.
Special thanks to Father Angus Johnston, Dr. Pierre Whitlock, Dr. Rina Lee, Dr. Pierre Leblanc, and the Extra-Mural nurses for the excellent care given to Vincent.
The family will receive condolences at Thompson's Funeral Home in Richibucto on Monday, January 4th from 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday January 5th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, January 6th, from 9 am to time of funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Charles Borromée Church at 1225 St-Charles Sud Rd, St-Charles, NB on January 6th at 11 am.
If desired, in memory of Vincent, a contribution to the Heart Foundation would be appreciated.
