It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Michael Bernard Jessome on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at the QEII in Halifax at the age of 68.
Born in Florence, Mike was the son of the late Stanfield and Gertrude (Nicholson) Jessome.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Vivian (Jessome); his daughters, Karen Jessome (Joe MacNeil), Sydney Mines, Michelle Jessome, North Sydney; his son Scott Jessome (Crystal Keeping), Thompson Manitoba; his grandchildren, Daniel and Aaron Neil, Scott and Katelyn Ball, Rebecca, Brayon, Emily and Miley Keeping; by his sisters, Virginia of Florence, Cecilia (Blair) of Mill Creek, Brenda (Cameron) of Florence and brother Allan (Joan) of Sydney Mines. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Theresa) Jessome, Joe (Judy) Jessome, George Jerrett and Bill McAdam; sisters-in-law, Betty Bonar, Marie (Carlie) Bonar and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brothers, Theodore and Bobby, sisters, AnnMarie McAdam, Bernice Jerrett, brothers-in-law, Alex, Austin (Lorraine) Jessome, Thomas Bonar, 'Brother' Jessome, sisters-in-law, Janette (Bud) Bonar and Elizabeth (Everett) Jessome.
Visitation for Mike will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
