Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the presence of his loving wife and family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his Mom and Dad: Hannah & Cecil Power, brothers-in-law, Bernard Butland and Kenneth Hickey. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Marilyn (nee Power), sisters & brothers: Mildred Butland, Madonna Lewis (Ted), Hubert Power (Marion), Laura Tremblett (Ted), Marcella Nolan (William), Harold Power (Kim), Clyde Power (Donna), Vera
Doody (James), Terry Power, Mother & Father -in -law: Joe & Betty Power, brothers & sisters-in-laws: Brenda Power (Eddie), Doris Power, Doreen Power, Melvin Power, Gary Power, Keith Power (Raylene), Joseph Power (Allison), numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. At his request cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering in Edward's memory on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 6 - 9 pm, and on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 2 - 9 pm at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, Admiral's Beach from where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Special Thank-you to Drs. Smith, Tibbo, Hurley, Lee, Angel, Joy McCarthy, Hayward, Paul Walsh, and the staff of St. Clare's Hospital and the Dr. H. Bliss Cancer Centre. Also a thank you to the Community Health nurses and special recognition to his many dear friends who visited, called and kept him in their thoughts and prayers.
