Neil, 41, of Dartmouth, passed away in peace surrounded by friends and family on January 3, 2016 at the QEII in Halifax. Neil was a thoughtful, dedicated and loving son, husband, father and friend. Neil brought humour and intelligence to all his interactions and endeavors. With a B.Comm (Co-op) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), an MBA from McGill University and a Masters Certificate from UQAM, he had a thriving career as Executive Director of the national research network, MEOPAR, which is hosted at Dalhousie University. Neil leaves behind his loving wife, Julie Green and daughters Meredith (8) and Amelia (5). Neil is survived by his parents, Lorraine and Ian Gall of St. John's, grandmother Teresa Coady, brother Andrew (Lisa), and nephews Alexander and Jacob, and aunts Linda, Christine, Geraldine, Paula, Carolyn and their families. Neil will be missed by Julie's parents Allan and Nancy Green, Julie's brother Stephen (Jill), and sister, Kimberlea (Eric) and nieces and nephews Dylan, Emma, Charlotte, Stephanie (Matt), Jack and Gweneth and Julie's aunts Linda and Eloise and uncles Brian and Frank Doucet. Neil will also be greatly missed by an incredible circle of lifelong friends with whom he shared countless laughs, memories and good times. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday January 5th from 2-4 and 7-9pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral mass will take place at 10 am on Wednesday January 6 in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple Street, Dartmouth, Father Jim Richards officiating. Reception to follow at The Lodge at the University of King's College, 6360 Coburg St., Halifax. Cremation and interment to take place at a later date. A memorial service will also be held in St. John's, NL at a later date. An educational trust will be established at MEOPAR where donations in memory of Neil may be made. www.meopar.ca.
