It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Lee, age 63, on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at his home in Baddeck.
He was a son of Angus and the late Jenny Fitzgerald.
Lee had a passion for the great outdoors and began his working career in the forestry industry, before moving on to manage Briands Taxi to later, owning Kings Taxi. Following this, he began a long career in auto sales and for the last 17 years, was the owner/operator of Lee’s Sales and Service.
Lee leaves behind his loving spouse, Isabel Connors and her children, Vanessa (Brad) Strong and their children, Dylan, Justin, Erica and Patrick and Jason (Shalane Cosnick) Morrison and their children, Kenzie, Ayden and Breah; daughter, Tanya (Joey) Hawley and their children, Shakira and Carson. Also left to mourn are his sisters, Aldona, Debbie and Jacqueline; brothers, Austin, Wayne, Russell, Donnie, Bobby and Roger, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Lee was predeceased by his sister, Irene; brothers, Carson and Bruce; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sarah and Prescott Connors; grandson, Justin.
A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m., with Deacon Wally Ivany officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Palliative Care Society.
