Christene (MacDonald) Nicholson, 95, of Baddeck passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2016 at Victoria County Memorial Hospital surrounded by members of her loving family.
Born at North River Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Morrison) MacDonald.
She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church of Baddeck.
She is survived by daughters, Kaye Pinaud (Joey) and Sharon Phillips (Bruce), both of Baddeck; sisters, Mae Montgomery, Katherine Montgomery and Sadie MacLean (Murdock), all of Baddeck; sister-in-law Josephine MacDonald, Sydney; grandchildren, Shawn (Marie-Josée), Ottawa, and Cranton (Mikaël), Fredericton; great-grandchild Elodie, Ottawa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Donald J. Nicholson, brothers, Kenneth, Johnny (Anna Mae), and Roddie, brothers-in-law, DJ and Norman Montgomery and sister Jessie.
The wake will be held on Friday, Jan. 8 at MacAskill’s Funeral Home, Baddeck, with visitation from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck, with Rev. Brian MacLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Middle River Cemetery.
